Jamie Moyer, Matt Stairs added as Phillies broadcasters

Former major leaguers Jamie Moyer and Matt Stairs have joined the Philadelphia Phillies’ television broadcasting team, replacing longtime announcer Chris Wheeler and former player Gary Matthews. Stairs and Moyer, who pitched 11 seasons with the Seattle Mariners including an All-Star year in 2003, were members of the Phillies 2008 World Series championship team and 2009 N.L. championship club. Each will broadcast more than 100 games, including 30 together. They join play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy in the booth. Moyer won 269 games in a 26-year career. – Associated Press
