Boys roundup: Selkirk holds off Curlew in double overtime

Brandyn Ross made 1 of 2 free throws to snap a 62-all tie and Curlew couldn’t get off a final shot Saturday as host Selkirk defeated the Cougars 63-62 in double overtime in Northeast 1B North play at Ione.

Shawn Mailly scored 23 points for the Rangers (8-8, 6-2), including a 3-pointer as regulation time expired to tie the game at 49. Selkirk’s Jacob Couch hit two free throws with 18.7 seconds left in OT to tie the game at 57 and force a second OT.

Coby Grumbach scored 14 to lead the Cougars (7-5, 5-2).

Cusick 63, Republic 35: Chad Browneagle scored 21 points and the visiting Panthers (12-2, 7-0) held the Tigers (6-7, 3-4) without a second-quarter field goal to pick up the win.

Republic’s Aaron Fritts scored all 10 of his points in the second half.

Northport 32, Columbia 31: Patrick Lamb scored six of his 16 points in the fourth quarter as the host Mustangs (1-13, 1-7) held off the Lions (2-13, 1-6).

The Lions misfired with 4 seconds left.

Great Northern League

Pullman 79, East Valley 50: Race Martin scored 16 of his game-high 23 points in the first half to guide the first-place Greyhounds (11-1, 5-0) to a road win over the Knights (8-6, 3-3).

Tanner Therien and AJ Miles added 16 points apiece for the Greyhounds. J.T. Phelan scored 19 for the Knights.

Colville 53, Deer Park 37: Lukyn Holling scored 21 points and Matt Hubbard added 19 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and three steals to carry the host Indians (8-4, 3-2) past the Stags (5-8, 1-4).

Nonleague

Cheney 69, Medical Lake 52: Alex Berman scored 14 of his 23 points in the second half as the host Blackhawks (2-10) eased past the Cardinals (5-9).

Lakeland 63, Lewiston 47: Tyrel Derrick scored 26 points, hitting three 3-pointers and shooting 11 for 13 from the line as the visiting Hawks (7-5) shot 44 percent from long range and defeated the Bengals (3-9).

Lewiston’s Jayden Kauffman scored a team-high 13 points before fouling out.

Northeast 2B

St. George’s 60, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 46: Dexter Sienko scored 24 points and Erick Muelheims added 20 as the Dragons (17-0, 11-0) roared back from a six-point halftime deficit to defeat the Broncos (12-2, 8-2) at Ritzville.

LRS’ Dylan Hartz hit four of his six 3-pointers in the first quarter and scored 20.

NW Christian 56, Davenport 43: Ryan Ricks and Chris Hartis scored 12 points apiece as the balanced Crusaders (11-6, 6-5) topped the visiting Gorillas (4-12, 1-9).

NWC’s Nathan Sander and Jonathan Morris added 11 points apiece. Davenport’s Austin Zellar and Tristan Abbott combined for 27 points.

Reardan 57, Colfax 41: Skylar Peone and Brandon Ruben combined for 26 points and the visiting Indians (5-12, 1-10) earned the win by holding the Bulldogs (7-9, 5-6) to three second-half field goals.

Northeast 1B South

Odessa-Harrington 47, Wilbur-Creston 44: Carsen Weber scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half, including a 3-pointer at the third-quarter buzzer, and the visiting Titans (8-6, 2-1) edged the Wildcats (10-5, 2-2) at Wilbur.

O-H’s Jacob DeWulf had 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Southeast 1B

LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 58, Tekoa-Oakesdale 40: Darcy Stamper scored 27 points and Riley Roberts added 23 as the Tigercats (4-6, 3-5) turned back the Nighthawks (1-9, 1-8) at Oakesdale.

T-O’s Parker Perry scored 12 points.

Touchet 64, Rosalia 51: Elias Martinez scored 22 points as the host Indians defeated the Spartans (7-6, 5-4).

Craig Nelson scored 24 points and Cory Brown added 14 for Rosalia.

Garfield-Palouse 78, Liberty Christian 39: Tyler Thurman had 17 points and six assists and the visiting Vikings (12-2, 8-2) shot 63 percent from the floor in defeating the Patriots at Richland.

Gar-Pal’s Matthew Holbrook and Jesse Lopez combined for 27 points.

Pomeroy 79, St. John-Endicott 26: Riley Bott, Tyson Feider and Bryan McGreevy combined for 36 points to lead the first-place Pirates (13-1, 9-1) past the Eagles (0-12, 0-8) at St. John.

SJE’s Robert Staples scored 12 points.

North Star League

Lakeside 68, Kootenai 28: Jordan Meshall and Joe Brown combined for 27 points to lead four players in double figures as the host Knights (9-3, 2-1) stormed past the visiting Warriors (0-3 league) at Plummer.

Kootenai’s Anthony Ausman scored a game-high 16 points.

Central Idaho 2A

Grangeville 59, St. Maries 49: Austin Parks and Michael Wilson combined for 25 points to guide the visiting Bulldogs past the Lumberjacks. Logan Feasline had 11 points and 11 rebounds for St. Maries.

Orofino 56, Coeur d’Alene Charter 29: Hayden Wilson hit five 3-pointers on the way to 19 points as the visiting Maniacs defeated the Panthers.
