Girls roundup: Wilbur-Creston matches best start in program history

Kaelee Reed had 15 rebounds and 14 points Saturday as Wilbur-Creston (15-0, 4-0) matched the best start in program history by beating Odessa-Harrington 71-45 in Northeast 1B South play at Wilbur.

W-C’s Karlee Maioho (14 points), Emily Starzman (14) and Elizabeth Brudevold (11) had career highs. Katie DeWulf scored 15 points for the Titans (7-9, 2-2).

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 49, Valley Christian 19: Reinnee Rockett scored 18 points to guide the Warriors (7-7, 2-2) past the Panthers (1-9, 0-3) at Coulee City.

Great Northern League

East Valley 69, Pullman 41: Alex Rankin scored a game-high 23 points to lead the host Knights (11-3, 4-2) past the Greyhounds (6-7, 2-3).

EV’s Hannah Burland added 13 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Becca Wickard led Pullman with 21 points.

Colville 51, Deer Park 19: The host Indians (9-3, 3-2) dashed to a 21-2 first-quarter lead and cruised past the Stags (1-12, 0-5). No player reached double figures.

Inland Empire League 4A

Sandpoint 35, Moscow 30: Hailey Olin had nine points and seven rebounds as the visiting Bulldogs (10-5, 2-0) overcame first-quarter foul trouble to two starters to hold off the Bears (1-13, 1-1). Sandpoint held on despite 9-for-22 shooting from the line.

Nonleague

Lewiston 78, Lakeland 21: Lynzee Wilson and Cali Moscrip combined for 31 points as the host Bengals (13-1) eased past the Hawks (3-13).

Lewiston hit 12 3-pointers.

Cheney 44, Medical Lake 35: Kendyl Cone and Shyann Morton scored 18 points apiece and the host Blackhawks (3-9) held the Cardinals (5-8) scoreless in the first quarter to earn the win.

Intermountain League

Timberlake 43, Priest River 41: Freshman Keelie Lawler hit a 3-pointer with 8 seconds left to give the visiting Tigers (9-7, 3-2) a win over the Spartans (9-6, 4-1). PR’s Katlyn Summers had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Northeast 2B

St. George’s 43, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 41: Allison Hayes stole the ball and hit a layup with 26 seconds left to give the Dragons (7-10, 5-6) a win over the Broncos (10-5, 7-3) at Ritzville. Hailey Higashi of St. George’s and Jenna Bennett and Tessa Jantz of LRS all scored 11.

Northwest Christian 56, Davenport 31: Rachel Bozlee had 18 points and five steals and the Crusaders (17-0, 11-0) held the visiting Gorillas (8-8, 5-5) to 11 second-half points in the win. NWC’s Courtney Gray added nine rebounds.

Colfax 59, Reardan 19: Nicole Sheer had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Scout Cai came off the bench for 12 points as the host Bulldogs (12-4, 9-2) rolled past the Indians (3-14, 1-10).

Northeast 1B North

Republic 64, Cusick 60: Freshman Lily Beckwith had 17 points and four steals as the first-place Tigers (13-1, 7-0) held off the visiting Panthers (7-4, 4-3), who fell into a third-place tie.

Republic’s Demi Jo Vaughn and Shania Graham combined for 25 points and 22 rebounds. Cusick’s Catelyn Nenema scored 29.

Curlew 51, Selkirk 44: Lindsey Gibson scored 25 points and the visiting Cougars (7-6, 5-3) used a 17-9 fourth quarter to overcome the Rangers (8-6, 4-3) at Ione. Selkirk’s Katie Couch had 13 points.

Columbia 47, Northport 35: Asia Kieffer and Gabby Singer combined for 26 points as the visiting Lions (4-7, 2-3) toppled the Mustangs (0-15, 0-9). Northport’s Jordanna Wiley led all scorers with 17 points.

Southeast 1B

Pomeroy 50, St. John-Endicott 49: Mackenzie Monahan scored 10 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Pirates (5-4 league) overcame a 12-point halftime deficit to edge the Eagles (8-5, 6-3) at St. John. SJE’s Abby Glorfield scored 23 points.

Tekoa-Oakesdale 67, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 22: Jacey Johnson scored 20 points to guide the first-place Nighthawks (12-1, 9-0) past the Tigercats (1-11, 0-9) at Oakesdale. Mattie Jo Johnson added 16 points for T-O, which jumped to a 19-6 first-quarter lead.

Liberty Christian 42, Garfield-Palouse 33: Wynter Greeno scored 26 points to carry the host Patriots past the Vikings (4-10, 2-8) at Richland. G-P’s Taylor Redman scored 22.

Touchet 49, Rosalia 37: Cierra McKeown scored 28 points to lead the host Indians past the Spartans (6-7, 3-6). Mackenzie Reddish had 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Spartans.

Central Idaho 2A

Coeur d’Alene Charter 47, Orofino 22: Post Sarah Haman finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds in leading the host Panthers (5-6, 1-2) past the Maniacs.

Grangeville 42, St. Maries 32: Shantel Key scored 13 points and the visiting Bulldogs defeated the Lumberjacks. Chelsea Thaut led the Lumberjacks with 10 points.
