Basketball roundup: Sandpoint cruises to victory

Maryah Delgado scored 10 points, Nikole Alamillo added nine and Hailey Olin eight as the Sandpoint Bulldogs (11-6, 3-0) cruised to a 41-31 victory over the visiting Lakeland Hawks on Thursday to remain atop the Inland Empire League 4A.

Kaidan Kelsey scored a game-high 11 points and Kelly Ramus added eight points for the Hawks (3-14, 0-3).

Nonleague

St. Maries 46, Priest River 39: Kelsey Auer posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Lumberjacks held off the host Spartans. Kari Ghramm and Kerstin Auer each added eight points for the Lumberjacks. Jill Weimer led Priest River with 16 points.

CdA Charter 36, Bonners Ferry 32: Anna Verhaeghe scored a game-high 13 points to lead the Panthers over the host Badgers. Emma Kelly scored 12 and Desi Minor had 13 rebounds for Bonners Ferry.

Boys

Lakeland 60, Sandpoint 52: Tyrel Derrick tallied 23 points and five assists to lead the visiting Hawks (8-5, 1-1) to a wire-to-wire Inland Empire League 4A victory against the Bulldogs (8-7, 0-2). Jeremiah Gagnon led Sandpoint with 18 points.

Nonleague

St. Maries 64, Priest River 47: Logan Feasline scored 18 points to lead the visiting Lumberjacks past the Spartans. Cody Posselt added nine points for the Lumberjacks and Jordan Bedwell scored eight. The Spartans were led by a game-high 21 points from Jimmy Koch.

Kootenai 37, Kellogg JV 26: Jake Pfieffer and Colson Schultz each scored nine points as the Warriors beat the host Wildcats. Kellogg’s Jordan Bebout scored 11 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter.
