Four corners: Gonzaga Bulldogs
Thu., Jan. 30, 2014
COMING UP: Saturday at San Francisco, 7 p.m. (KHQ/Root)
OUTLOOK: No road venue in the WCC has been tougher on Gonzaga in recent seasons than USF’s War Memorial Gym. The Bulldogs dropped three straight at the cozy gym, two in overtime, before last year’s 71-61 victory. “I thought there was a curse here or something,” said ex-Zag Elias Harris, who was 0-3 in his first three trips. Gonzaga routed the Dons, who entered this week in third place in the WCC, 69-41 in Spokane a month ago. The 41 points was USF’s season low by 16 points. USF forwards Cole Dickerson (14.6 points, 7.5 rebounds) and Kruize Pinkins (12.2 points. 6.7 rebounds) combined for 16 rebounds but made just 2 of 17 field-goal attempts and scored only seven points.
