Sue Bird, Crystal Langhorne lead Storm past Sky

Associated Press

SEATTLE – Sue Bird scored eight straight points late in the fourth quarter to help the Seattle Storm beat the Chicago Sky 80-73 in a WNBA game on Saturday night.

Bird and Crystal Langhorne each scored 19 points for the Storm (8-12). Camille Little, returning to action after missing Seattle’s loss to Los Angeles on Thursday night because of a death in her family, added 18 points.

Bird’s scoring run included a 20-footer with 2:48 left that snapped the 11th and final tie, giving Seattle a 73-71 lead.

Former Gonzaga star Courtney Vandersloot did not play for the Sky (8-10). She is expected to be out several weeks after suffering a knee sprain in a game on June 27.
