2 docks approved on Lake Coeur d’Alene
The Idaho Department of Lands has approved a Boise developer’s controversial application to build two community docks on property he and others own north of Rockford Bay on Lake Coeur d’Alene.
Roger Anderson owns the Estates at Black Rock Bay, a gated upland development, and also waterfront parcels, which he owns with two relatives. His attorney, John Magnuson, of Coeur d’Alene, said in a March interview that Anderson intends to sell ownerships in the beach property, which would come with use of the docks.
That was a sticking point for neighbors, who said the arrangement would alter the quiet character of their shoreline. During an April hearing, they said that granting Anderson’s dock application would set a precedent on the lake.
However, Eric Wilson, a hearings examiner, said Anderson’s application fit the description of community docks and recommended approval. The Department of Lands approved the application this week.
