Tyler Busby, 32, struck three cars and a highway sign, police said

From staff reports
A 32-year-old Spokane Valley man with two 60-year-old women in tow crashed into two cars on Interstate 90 near the stateline Sunday afternoon and attempted to run from police, according to a news release. Tyler K. Busby is in Kootenai County Jail facing charges of driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and striking a highway sign. Authorities say Busby caused two rear-end collisions on Interstate 90 around 4 p.m. Sunday, each time leaving the scene until finally crashing his 2003 Toyota sedan into a sign and fleeing on foot. He was taken into custody by the Idaho State Police without incident. Two 60-year-old women were in the Toyota with Busby at the time of the collisions, according to the ISP. They reported no injuries. Russell Merriman, also 32, who was driving the second car struck by Busby, was treated at the scene for injuries, according to a news release. The 18-year-old driver of the first car struck by the Toyota also reported no injuries at the scene. Merriman and the teenager were both wearing seatbelts, according to the ISP.
