Dewdney, Milchman, Go highlight May readings at Auntie’s

It’s May, which means there’s a new monthly events calendar from our friends at Auntie’s Bookstore.

And from the world of children’s literature, there’s a popular author coming to town.

Anna Dewdney, author of the “Llama Llama” series (“Llama Llama Red Pajama,” “Llama Llama Home With Mama,” et cetera) will be at Auntie’s at 1 p.m. May 18 to mark the release of “Nelly Gnu and Daddy Too.” The Vermont resident and New York Times best-selling author writes and illustrates her popular tales.

Meanwhile, Jenny Milchman is returning to Spokane with a new book, “Ruin Falls.” The New Jersey-based writer was last here in August in support of the paperback release of her first novel, “Cover of Snow.” Milchman will be at Auntie’s at 7 p.m. May 20.

Coming up soon in the store’s Debut Author Series, author Justin Go will read from his first novel, “The Steady Running of the Hour,” at 7 p.m. Friday. The next day, Go travels to Moscow, Idaho, for a 7:30 p.m. reading at BookPeople, 521 S. Main St. The book centers on a young American who may or may not be the heir of a famous English mountaineer.
