From staff reports
A Spokane man was arrested early this morning after allegedly hitting a police cruiser with his vehicle, then fleeing a short distance before being caught, according to a news release. The officer’s vehicle was hit while driving northbound on Monroe Street near Walton Avenue at 1 a.m., sending it into a spin, according to the release. The driver of the car sped away westbound on Walton. The officer regained control of his car and pursued the suspect along with another nearby officer, according to the release. Authorities caught up to the suspect at Jefferson Street and Heroy Avenue. Aaron T. Scott, 43, was booked into Spokane County Jail on counts of attempt to elude a pursuing police vehicle, driving under the influence and hit and run. The arresting officer was not injured and the SPD vehicle sustained only minor damage, according to the release.
