ATV rolls, injures rider in Coeur d’Alene National Forest

A Rathdrum man was injured when he lost control of his ATV and it rolled on him about 1 p.m. today in the Coeur d’Alene National Forest. Gregory S. Randall, 59, was taken to Kootenai Health and Medical Center by a Life Flight helicopter because of possible internal injuries, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office reported in a news release. Randall was riding with a group of friends who called for help, but they told deputies that they didn’t see the accident. The incident occurred on Forest Service Road 209 near Forest Service Road 206. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, the sheriff’s office said. Randall was not wearing a helmet.
