Obituary: Conner-Firor, Laura Lee

Age 81

CONNER-FIROR, Laura Lee (Age 81) Laura Lee passed away unexpectedly on October 29, 2014.

She was born to Harold and Dorothy Stoughton in DeBorgia, Montana on July 21, 1933.

She moved to Spokane, WA with her family as a child.

Laura retired from Spokane Oncology and Hematology, where she worked as a medical assistant.

Upon retiring, she loved to travel with her family.

Some of her favorite travel adventures included, a cruise to the Western Caribbean with all of her children, and salmon fishing with her kids and grandkids in the beautiful state of Alaska.

One of her proudest stories to tell was how she went skydiving with her grandkids on the North Shore of Hawaii at the age of 74.

Laura Lee had a passion for sewing and quilting.

She sewed many beautiful quilts for those she loved.

It was personally fulfilling for Laura to knit hundreds of winter hats over the years which she then donated to homeless shelters.

Another way she showed her love was in her homemade cookies.

If you were ever on the receiving end of her baked goods, you were truly blessed.

Mom impacted the lives of her family, friends and acquaintances with her sense of humor, warmth and quick wit.

She is survived by her sister, Georgia (Chet) Davis; brothers, Neil (Nyla) Stoughton and Don (Debra) Stoughton; her seven children: Daryl (Vicki) Tachell, Diana (Les) Dimick, Pat Conner, Dorothy (Tim) Adams, Mike (Dala) Conner, Lori Coleman and Wendy (Ron) Scouton; and five stepchildren: Tommy Firor, Kathy (Marty) Gibson, Susan Hall, Jerry (Polly) Firor, Trish (Jay) Gillette; one bonus child, Brian Trim; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob Firor; her daughter-in-law, Mary Conner; and granddaughter, Chelsey Firor.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, from 4:00pm - 8:00pm, with services on Thursday, November 6, at 11:00 am, at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division.

Interment will follow at St Joseph Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband.
