The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says the victims of a double homicide Saturday were executed in a “gruesome crime.” Brothers Arturo Gallegos and Juan Gallegos-Rodriguez, were killed at the Broadway Square Apartments in Spokane Valley, where they shared a unit. Gallegos-Rodriguez, 44, died from multiple gunshot wounds, and Gallegos, 53, died from a gunshot wound to the head and neck. Neighbors said the brothers were nice people who moved into the unit within the past few months and largely kept to themselves. The door to the brothers’ apartment had several lit candles, flowers and cards from neighbors Wednesday morning. Detectives have established a major crimes tip line for citizens to provide information about major crimes investigations. Anyone who has had past contact with the victims, knowledge of their activities or any information about the homicide is asked to call the line at 509-477-3186.
