Obituary: Kazda, Agnes Marie

Age 96

KAZDA, Agnes Marie (Age 96) Agnes Marie Kazda went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2014.

She was 96 years old and resided at the Spokane Veterans Home for the past eight years.

She was born to Marie Basta and Rudolph Kazda on August 30, 1918 in Southwick, Idaho.

She attended St. Stanislaus School in Lewiston, Idaho and after she graduated from high school, she came to Spokane during WWII and worked at Fairchild Air Force Base.

She enlisted in the Navy Waves and served in the hospital wards, she traveled a lot and retired from the Navy.

She came back to Spokane and attended Kinman Business School and then Eastern Washington University.

She volunteered for 19 years at the Veterans Hospital and received many awards for her many hours of service.

She belonged to and was the treasurer of the Altar Society for many years of the Saint Cyril & Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church in the Spokane Valley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Rudolph and Paul.

She is survived by her sister Ann Randall from the Spokane Valley; her two brothers Francis Kazda from Great Falls, Montana and Jerome Kazda from Clarkston, Washington.

A Parastas Service will be Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Saint Cyril & Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church, 4315 N. Evergreen, Spokane Valley, WA.

Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, November 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM also at the Church.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Donations can be made in her honor to the Saint Cyril & Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church.
