Police investigating injured woman found in parking lot

Spokane Valley traffic investigators are seeking to learn more about events that left a woman injured in a tavern parking lot. The injured woman was found on Oct. 17 around 11:30 p.m. in the Mike’s Welcome Tavern parking lot in Spokane Valley. She was highly intoxicated at the scene and told deputies she was sitting behind a parked vehicle that hit her. Witnesses at the scene said the victim was alone in the parking lot before the incident. Investigators believe she may have say or laid down behind a parked vehicle, and the driver may not know they hit her. She was seriously injured at the time of the incident and was recently released from the hospital. Anyone who was at the tavern between 11 and 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, or who has information about the incident is asked to contact Corporal Jeff Welton at (509) 477-3237.
