ACH, Odessa-Harrington qualify for State 1B volleyball
Berlyn Hunt recorded nine kills and Emma Dingman had four aces Thursday as the Almira/Coulee-Hartline Warriors qualified for the State 1B tournament with a 3-0 sweep over Valley Christian in a District 7 1B semifinal at Coulee City.
ACH will play the Odessa-Harrington Titans for the district championship at 3 p.m. Saturday at Northwest Christian.
Aimee Patton had four kills for the Panthers, who will face Wellpinit in a loser-out match at 1 p.m. Saturday at NWC.
O-H swept host Republic in the other semifinal. Savannah Bowe had six kills and 13 digs for Republic, which will play Curlew in a loser-out at 11 a.m. Saturday at NWC.
ACH opened with a sweep of Selkirk as Hunt had nine kills.
VC started with a 3-1 win over Curlew as Angelica Stefoglo had nine kills and Adrienne Valenti 16 assists. Kayleona Fanning had 11 kills and 13 digs for Curlew.
Fanning had 21 kills and Haleigh Gibson added 19 assists as Curlew held off Selkirk 3-2 in a loser-out match. Lexy Ellsworth had 10 kills for the Rangers.
O-H opened play at Republic with a sweep of Cusick.
Republic earlier swept Wellpinit as Sierra McQuay had 11 kills and seven blocks.
Wellpinit defeated Cusick 3-1 in a loser-out match.
Girls soccer
Kelsey Turnbow had two goals and an assist and host Central Valley blanked University (12-5) 3-0 in a 4A regional elimination match. Kasey Ames scored the Bears’ other goal. CV (15-2) will play at Mead (14-3) at 2 p.m. Saturday in a winner-to-state, loser-out match.
