Football: East Valley’s Dante Clayton throws six TD passes to defeat NC

Dante Clayton completed 13 of 18 passes for 251 yards and six touchdowns and East Valley crushed North Central 38-0 in a nonleague season finale Thursday at Albi Stadium.

Clayton threw four of his touchdown passes in the first half and added two more in the fourth quarter.

Connor Ramm and Tanner Jacobs hauled in two touchdown passes apiece. The two receivers combined for 159 yards.

Andrew Allen led East Valley’s ground attack, racking up 73 yards on 17 carries. He also had a touchdown catch.

The Indians struggled throughout, and were held to 148 yards of total offense.

North Central concluded its season with a 1-9 record. The Indians’ only win was Sept. 19 against Sunnyside.

East Valley (4-5) finished with three straight wins.

Southridge 24, Central Valley 19: The Bears scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to narrow the gap, but couldn’t complete the comeback in a loss to the Suns in a nonleague season finale at CV.

Mistakes cost the Bears. CV lost three fumbles, one of which was returned for a touchdown in the first quarter. Southridge led 24-6 at the half.

CV’s Braedon Orrino had rushing and receiving touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Bears quarterback Tanner Sloan threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns.

Central Valley finished its season with a 3-7 record.

University 44, Hanford 14: Freshman Malcome Lohstreter ran for 114 yards and touchdown and Bryce Williamson added 87 rushing yards and a score and the Titans dumped the visiting Falcons.

Titans quarterback Logan O’Neil connected with Gage Anderson for a pair of passing touchdowns.

University finished with a 6-4 record.

Cheney 41, Rogers 7: Austin Kline ran for 180 yards on 16 carries and scored three touchdowns to help power the Blackhawks (7-3) past the Pirates (1-9) in a nonleague season finale at Roos Field in Cheney.

Keenan Williams and Ryan Ward led the Blackhawks’ defense. Williams had two sacks and a tackle for a loss and Ryan Ward came away with two interceptions and a forced fumble.

Southeast 1B

Garfield-Palouse 44, Colton 12: Cole Sanderson rushed for 253 yards on 27 carries and scored four touchdowns to guide the Vikings past the visiting Wildcats at Palouse.

Garfield-Palouse racked up 426 yards on the ground. Hunter Woltering added 80 yards and two scores. Tyler Thurman came away with four of the Vikings’ five interceptions.

Sunnyside Christian 38, St. John-Endicott 36: The Eagles scored 24 fourth-quarter points to narrow the gap, but it wasn’t enough in a loss to the Knights in St. John.

Wilson Lundberg ran for 342 yards on 30 carries and scored five touchdowns, including three in the fourth quarter.
