Nonleague football roundup: Mead, Ferris finish with wins

A.J. Layton ran for 125 yards and three touchdowns and Anthony Gold added 97 yards and two scores as Mead ended its season with a 51-21 nonleague win over visiting Pasco on Friday.

Gold and Layton had two rushing touchdowns apiece in the first half as the the Panthers (4-6) raced out to a 44-7 lead.

Pasco’s season has also concluded.

Ferris 42, Richland 35: The Saxons (5-5) ended their season with a nonleague win over the host Bombers.

Omak 47, Kettle Falls 6: Rustle Daffern threw for 160 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 126 yards and two more scores as Omak overwhelmed host Kettle Falls (1-9) in a season-finale.

Omak’s Dustin Thorp hauled in eight passes for 88 yards and one touchdown.

Dustin Durpos had an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the first quarter for Kettle Falls’ lone score. Brady Hansen led Kettle Falls offensively with 84 rushing yards on 25 carries.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 62, Northport 6: Jacob Vogel rushed for six touchdowns and the Warriors (2-8) crushed the host Mustangs (0-9).

ACH’s Damian Leander added a receiving score and an interception return for a touchdown.

The Warriors outscored Northport 48-0 after the first quarter. The game was the season finale for both teams.

Asotin 31, Springdale 0: Koby Blunt threw for two touchdowns and Blake Magnuson ran for two scores as the Panthers blanked the visiting Chargers in a season finale. Springdale finished the season with a 2-8 record.

Pateros 62, Selkirk 29: After a competitive first half, the Billygoats scored 20 unanswered points after halftime and dumped the visiting Rangers (5-3) in a season finale.
