Big Sky football: Idaho State edges Cal Poly

Justin Arias passed for 292 yards and three touchdowns to spark the Idaho State Bengals (7-3, 5-1 Big Sky) to a 30-28 victory over the Cal Poly Mustangs (6-4, 5-2) on Saturday in Pocatello, Idaho.

Arias completed 22 of 40 passes for the Bengals, including a 24-yarder to Madison Mangum with six minutes left, pushing the lead to 30-21. Mangum caught 10 passes for 159 yards. Xavier Finney ran for 125 yards and Zak Johnson kicked three field goals for ISU.

Northern Arizona 23, UC Davis 21: Jordan Perry threw two first-half TD passes – including a 52-yarder to Ify Umodu – and the Lumberjacks (9-2, 6-1) held off the Aggies (1-8, 0-6) in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Montana State 29, Portland State 22: Quarterback Dakota Prukop and running back Gunnar Brekke each rushed for two TDs and the Bobcats (7-3, 5-1) ran for 329 yards in a win over the Vikings (2-4, 3-7) in Bozeman.

Brekke, who was filling in for injured All-American Shawn Johnson, opened the scoring with a 71-yard TD run and MSU led the rest of the way.

Sacramento State 42, Southern Utah 21: Garrett Safron passed for 425 yards and five TDs, including four scoring tosses to DeAndre Carter, who finished with 16 catches for 273 yards, to help the Hornets (5-5, 2-4) double up the Thunderbirds (2-8, 2-4) in Sacramento, California.

Weber State 24, North Dakota 12: Jadrian Clark threw for 235 yards and three TDs to lead the Wildcats (1-9, 1-5) past UND (3-7, 1-5) in Grand Forks, North Dakota, for their first win of the season.
