KCSDeputies Leaving For Higher Pay

At KREM2, Ryan Pitts reports: “Crime fighting has taken a hit as sheriff’s deputies have been quitting their jobs over lousy pay in Kootenai County. Deputy Jeff Howard has been a part of the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department for four years and has 20 people under him. Deputy Howard’s rapid rise to the top has less to do with being promoted, but more to do with the fact that he is still on the job. Sheriff Deputies with years of experience have been skipping out of Kootenai County for years now. All in search for better paid law enforcement jobs elsewhere.” More here.
