Dejounte Murray, Marquese Chriss head UW basketball’s recruiting class
SEATTLE – Washington signed six recruits for 2015, led by in-state star Dejounte Murray and power forward Marquese Chriss.
The recruiting class announced by coach Lorenzo Romar on Wednesday is ranked among the top 10 in the country by various outlets making it the highest-ranked group of recruits in Romar’s tenure.
Murray, a 6-foot-5 guard from Seattle’s Rainier Beach High, is the star of the class as the top-ranked player in the state. Not far behind is Chriss, a 6-8 forward out of Pleasant Grove High in California. Chriss averaged 19 points and 11.7 rebounds last season.
Joining that pair is small forward Matisse Thybulle from Eastside Catholic High outside Seattle; guard David Crisp from Brewster Academy in New Hampshire and a former teammate of Murray’s at Rainier Beach; Devenir Duruisseau, a 6-9 power forward, and junior-college transfer Malik Dime.
Romar said the class is very versatile and should help the program immediately next year.
