Boise State beats San Diego
LOS ANGELES – Anthony Drmic scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Boise State beat San Diego 81-75 on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.
The game was a matchup of former Gonzaga University assistants – Bill Grier at San Diego and Leon Rice at Boise State.
San Diego led by single digits through much of the first half until Drmic hit a three with 7:13 left in the period and Robert Heyer sank another less than a minute later to turn it around for Boise State, 23-22. The Broncos led 35-33 at the break.
The Torreros’ Johnny Dee finished 7 of 15 shooting for 25 points.
