Obituary: Konshuk, Sylvia Ann

Age 90

KONSHUK, Sylvia Ann (Age 90) Passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving family on November 12, 2014.

Sylvia was born to Frank and Annie Clausen on October 4th, 1924 at their home in Spangle Wash-ington.

She attended Spangle High School and after graduation went on to attend secretary school.

She met and married the love of her life, Harry Konshuk, at a dance in Spangle in the spring of 1946.

They were married later that fall.

They were blessed with five beautiful children, Craig, Ginger, Cindy, Jill and Brad.

She was an extraordinarily dedicated mother and wife.

She was a fabulous cook and everyone was always welcome at her table.

She could always find another plate and a place at her table to sit.

Her rye bread, pickles, and pies were legendary.

And her gardening and canning skills were the finest around.

She loved her flowers and plants and grew them beautifully.

She also enjoyed bridge and bowling.

Her favorite family vacations were at Kootenay Lake in Canada where she holds the family record for the largest rainbow trout caught, 20 lbs!

It is a record her children and grandchildren are still trying to break.

She was a magical nanny to her 13 grandchildren, Brandi, Emily, Kimberly, Evan, Eric, Alyssa, Ethan, Derek, Lane, Brent, Kendall, Jacob, and Chase who all adored her.

Her greatest priority in her life was her family, and she always had time for each of them.

She was an angel!

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Lou Konshuk, her brother, Clarence Clausen, her sister Marie Clausen, her mother and father Frank and Annie Clausen.

She is survived by her husband Harry Konshuk; son Craig (Leslie) Konshuk of Spangle WA, daughter Ginger (John) Johnson of Spangle, WA, daughter Jill (Steve) Culton of Bainbridge Island WA, son Brad (Lori) Konshuk, Spangle WA; 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

A private family service was held on Saturday, November 15th to celebrate Sylvia’s life.
