Obituary: Porter-Cole, Elaine M.

PORTER-COLE, Elaine M. (Age 69) Our beloved Elaine M. Porter-Cole went in peace to Jesus, our Lord on November 8, 2014 surrounded by her family in love and spirit at the Spokane Hospice House.

Elaine was born in 1945 in Fairbanks, AK to Harold and Margaret Knight.

She graduated from University High School in 1964 and attended college at Eastern Washington University, Whitworth College, and Gonzaga University.

She was a teacher in Central Valley School District, a Professional Development Director at the ESD 101, a principal in Colville and Prosser School Districts and a Superintendent of the Summit Valley School District.

She served as an award-winning consultant for WSSDA and OSPI in several districts including Mabton and was nationally recognized as a leader in the field of Drug and Alcohol Prevention.

She was a professional educator for over 40 years and a member of WASA.

Elaine was and is an inspiration to many, and believed in the worth and dignity of all children.

Elaine is a member of the Bethel Church in Prosser, WA.

With her husband and family members she founded the We Care and Share Foundation with the mission of uplifting children and families in need worldwide.

She continues to be dearly loved by her husband, Richard Cole of Sunnyside, WA; her children Dave, Kyle, Rita and Shiree; grand-children Gavin, Glen, Brittany, Jaida, Andrew, Reyna and Elise; great-grandchildren Joselyn and Benjamin; her sister and brother-in-law, Ron and Barbara Holmquist, her brother and sister-in-law, Russ and Karla Knight; her aunt and uncle Ev and Larry Maly and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Join us in Celebrating Elaine’s New Life on Saturday, November 22nd at 11am at the Bethel Church, 270 N. Gap Rd.

in Prosser WA.
