WSU volleyball team loses

The Washington State volleyball team lost to host No. 22 Colorado in Boulder on Sunday 26-24, 24-26, 19-25, 25-16, 15-12.

Emmy Allen and Kyra Holt each had 14 kills for WSU (10-18, 1-15 Pac-12). Chelsey Bettinson added 12 kills and 10 blocks. Ver’Leea Hardaway had 10 kills. Haley MacDonald contributed 15 assists and Kate Sommer 25 digs.

The final set was tied at 12 before Colorado (17-11, 9-7) landed a kill and then turned in two blocks to win.

Men’s soccer

North Idaho College (17-2-2) fell 3-0 to Highline (13-2-4) in the NWAC soccer championship played at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Washington.

• Ninth-ranked Washington (12-5-1, 5-4-1 Pac-12) lost to Oregon State 2-0 in Seattle.

The Huskies finished third in the conference behind first-place Stanford with UCLA second.

Washington is expected to be a top-16 seed and receive a first-round bye and a second-round home game when the NCAA tournament bracket is revealed today.
