Awaiting new leaders’ actions

In a very short time, control of both the U.S. House and Senate will be in the hands of the Republicans, and all of the power of those two bodies will be at the beck and call of House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Those two leaders will have the power to create nearly unimaginable positive changes for the citizens of our great nation.

Imagine a country where there are no longer children who are starving;, where people have good, well-paying jobs; where a person can receive equal pay for equal work. Think of a nation where our leaders are deeply concerned with the well-being of the citizens and not their own selfish images, or the amassing of the wealth for a few to the detriment of many. A nation where poverty is nonexistent and good health is available to all, regardless of who they are.

What would happen if those in government leadership positions worked for the common good and not the self-centered interests of the few?

These are all attainable goals under these two leaders, if they have the moral code to bring them about. Are they willing? We are waiting and watching.
