Carroll cruises to NAIA win

HELENA – Different season, same results for Carroll College.

The No. 1 ranked team in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, Carroll College blew past Valley City State 49-0 in the first round of the NAIA Football Championship Series on Saturday.

Dustin Rinker rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Fighting Saints (10-1) to their NAIA-best 10th straight victory.

The victory was the Fighting Saints’ 14th-straight first-round win.

Carroll College is looking for its seventh national title, and first since 2010.
