Obituary: Nelson, Claudia G. (Rambo)

Age 79

NELSON, Claudia G. (Rambo) Our mom, grandmother, and friend Claudia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Fairfield Care Assisted Living in Fairfield, WA.

She was born Claudia G. Rambo on June 17, 1935 at Spokane, WA, to Pres and Adene (Butcher) Rambo, the first of four children in the family.

Claudia was raised on the Rambo family farm between Tekoa and Farmington with her siblings Gene, Virginia, and Tom.

She attended schools in Tekoa, WA, and graduated from Tekoa High School in 1953.

Claudia married Charlie A.

‘Cardy’ Nelson on February 12, 1975 at Coeur d’Alene, ID, and the couple made their home at Plummer, ID.

Mr. Nelson died in January of 2002.

She continued to live at Plummer until moving to Fairfield Care two years ago.

Claudia worked at the Gateway CafĂŠ, then as manager at the Benewah Market, a grocery store in Plummer, for over 20 years when she retired.

Prior to her marriage to Mr. Nelson, she was a homemaker and raised her children.

Claudia loved her family and friends, and in between you would find her out in the yard with her flowers and garden in the spring and summer; and at Christmas time, putting up as many decorations as she could.

Survivors include her children, Randy Duncan of Tekoa, WA, David Duncan of Worley, ID, Debbie Harp of Tekoa, WA, Monty Nelson of Viola, ID, Brenden Nelson of Ephrata, WA, Bradley Nelson of Coeur d’Alene, ID, and Makalia Nelson of Plummer, ID; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her siblings, Virginia Lasz of Fairfield, WA, Gene Rambo and Tom Rambo, both of Farmington, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents Pres and Adene Rambo, husband Cardy, and son Dennis Duncan.

The family thanks Fairfield Care for the wonderful care they gave her.

A Memorial Service for Claudia Nelson will be held at a later date.
