Motorsports: British driver Lewis Hamilton clinched his second Formula One title in style with victory at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday, with title rival Nico Rosberg drifting out of contention after failing to recover from a poor start in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Hamilton, the 2008 F1 champion, entered the race with a 17-point lead over his Mercedes rival Rosberg, needing only a top-two finish to guarantee the title.

Rosberg started from pole position and could have taken his first F1 title with a win providing Hamilton finished third. That dream scenario lasted 3 seconds – the time it took Hamilton to overtake Rosberg.

Brazilian driver Felipe Massa crossed the line in second place ahead of his Williams teammate Valtteri Bottas.

Schumacher improving: Former Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher continues to make progress as he recovers at home from December’s skiing accident.

Schumacher’s manager, Sabine Kehm, told German TV station RTL that the seven-time champion is “making progress considering the severity of his injury” and “you have to give it time. I think you really just have to have patience.”

Schumacher was left in a coma after the accident.

Wildcats make quick work of Bobcats

A game in which the Wildcats (5-0) finished just 29 of 67 from the field (43 percent) was offset by a defensive effort that forced the overmatched Bobcats (0-4) into 21 turnovers and held them to 20 percent shooting.

Joey Frenchwood’s seven points led the Bobcats.

Their status will be reevaluated following the No. 17 Huskies’ return home, the school said in a statement.

Only Lubin has seen action in the Huskies’ first three games.
