Seattle Mariners sign All-Star Kyle Seager to seven-year extension for $100 million

Kyle Seager is going to be wearing a Seattle Mariners’ uniform for quite some time. And he will be paid handsomely to do so. A baseball source with knowledge of the situation confirmed reports that the Mariners and their All-Star third baseman have agreed to a seven-year, $100 million contract extension. The contract also features a club option for an eighth year. The Mariners had no comment at this time. Seager still must pass a physical to make things official. But with the Thanksgiving holiday this week, Seager won’t likely come to Seattle until the following week to make things official. Seager, 27, hit .268 with 27 doubles, four triples, 25 homers and 96 RBI this season. Besides being an A.L. All-Star, he won a Gold Glove for his fielding. – Seattle Times
