Obituary: Walton, Carolyn Elaine
Age 76
Carolyn, passed away November 15, 2014 peacefully at her home.
She was born in Lewiston, ID and moved to Spokane before school age where she remained.
She graduated from North Central High School and enjoyed reunion lunches up until recently.
She and her husband, Malcolm, opened the first Jade Tree gift shop in 1960 and maintained gift shops in Spokane for 28 years.
They traveled to the Orient extensively for business and pleasure.
Carolyn joined Women of Rotary in 1967, was a Past President and Chairman of the Disabilities Committee.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered at the Vanessa Beham Crisis Nursery.
She was a sought after homestay mother to numerous foreign exchange students.
Her hospitality was legendary.
Survived by two daughters, Laura Charlton and Jenny Hall; a sister, Charlotte Homolka; two brothers, Doug Wagner and Clark Gardner; four grandchildren, Sydney and Jeremy Charlton, and Trisha and Kendra Hall; and one great-grandchild, the light of her life, Issac.
Preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Walton and one daughter, Michelle Walton.
