10-member committee

The U.N. Committee Against Torture comprises 10 independent experts with recognized competence in the field of human rights. Current members are from Morocco, Italy, Mauritius, the United States, Senegal, Chile, Denmark, Nepal, Georgia and China. The member from the United States, Felice Gaer, currently serves as vice chairperson of the panel. The committee reviews the records of all 156 U.N. members.
