SEATTLE – A boater was rescued and taken to a hospital after his vessel capsized on Lake Washington.
The Seattle Times reported the 57-year-old man used his cellphone to call for help after his boat overturned Saturday about 12:30 p.m.
The National Weather Service reported waves of 2 to 3 feet on the lake Saturday afternoon and wind speeds of 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore said the man’s phone was in an airtight case. The man spent about 20 minutes in the water without a life jacket or any type of wet suit and was hypothermic.
