Injuries result in Rogers ending varsity girls soccer season
A shortage of healthy players has forced Rogers High School to forfeit the rest of its varsity girls soccer matches, the Greater Spokane League announced Thursday.
Down to 12 fit players, the Pirates will play a junior varsity schedule beginning Friday, according to Butch Walter, the athletic director at Central Valley High School, who also coordinates GSL soccer.
After compiling a 1-2-1 record in nonleague play, the Pirates lost several players to injury, resulting in forfeits to University on Friday and Mead on Wednesday.
