Age 69

HILSTAD, Darlene M. (Sublie) October 29, 1944 - September 24, 2014 Was born October 29, 1944 in Colville, WA.

She joined our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 69 on September 24, 2014 in Yuba City, CA.

She is survived by her husband Ron Hilstad; mother Evelyn Sublie, Kettle Falls, WA; brothers Kenneth Sublie, Gary Sublie (Jean Snyder), and Orval Sublie (Jo Day); sisters Vernal May Haynes (Jack) and Betty McDonald (Steve Johnson); daughters Jennifer Jellsey (Josh) and Cindi Hendrix; grandchildren Abbigail and Mathew Butcher, Caleb and Luke Jellsey; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

Preceded in death by her father Herman Joe Sublie.

She attended all 12 years and graduated from high school at Kettle Falls, WA.

She lived the majority of her life in Washington State with her family.

Her next phase of life settling in Yuba and Sutter Counties in California.

Darlene succeeded in many different jobs that included Secretarial, Restaurant Management, and Security Officer but none of them were as important as taking care of her family and friends.

She loved gardening; sewing, baking and most of all enjoyed the adventures of going to yard sales to find her treasured antiques.

Darlene was known by friends and family as a woman who put everyone else first before herself.

She was full of laughter and her spunky personality left a lasting impression that will be missed by all.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, October 5th at 1:00 PM at Meyers Falls Cemetery, Kettle Falls, WA, Shane Moffitt officiating.

Please join the family for a meal, reminiscent of fond memories of Darlene, at the Legion Hall Highway 395 North, Kettle Falls, WA directly following the service.
