Zoe Boleneus made three saves in the shootout and Gonzaga Prep clipped Lewis and Clark 2-1 in a Greater Spokane League girls soccer match Friday at Gonzaga Prep.
After a scoreless first half, the Bullpups’ Darby Doyle struck first early in the second half to stake Gonzaga Prep (5-3, 2-2) to a 1-0 lead.
In the 73rd minute, the Tigers’ (7-2, 3-1) Olivia Ellis scored an unassisted goal to knot the match and send it to a shootout.
• Kelsey Turnbow completed her hat trick in the first 12 minutes and Central Valley (8-1, 3-1) topped University (7-1, 3-1) 3-1 at Central Valley. Morgan Crosby scored the Titans’ lone goal in the 11th minute.
• Alex Chambers and Claire Neder scored two goals apiece and Mead (5-5, 2-2) routed North Central (1-6, 0-4) 6-1 at the Merkel Complex. Katie Greene and Sydney Hellman also scored for the Panthers. Barret Chaparro scored the Indians’ lone goal.
• Maddy Boyde scored a pair of second-half goals and Mt. Spokane (8-2, 4-0) beat Ferris (6-3, 1-3) 3-1 at Ferris. The Wildcats scored all of their goals after halftime.
• Shadle Park beat visiting Rogers 3-1. Rogers coach Valentin Dimitrov said the team will continue to play matches this season, but because of an inability to field a complete team on a consistent basis, all of Rogers’ matches will be considered nonleague.
