Area small school football: Boxers start fast, beat Whits

Bobby Ladiges ran for 141 yards and three touchdowns and Kamana Pimental added 123 yards on the ground and a score as Pacific beat Whitworth 29-15 in a Northwest Conference game Saturday in Forest Grove, Oregon.

The Boxers (1-2, 1-0) racked up 327 rushing yards compared to just 19 for the Pirates.

Whitworth quarterback Bryan Peterson threw for 260 yards and a touchdown, but the Pirates couldn’t crawl back from a 22-6 halftime deficit.

The loss was the second in a row for the Pirates (3-2, 1-1) following a 3-0 start to the season.

Whitworth plays host to Willamette in its Homecoming game next Saturday.

Puget Sound 38, Lewis & Clark 7: Braden Foley threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns and Noah Frazier had 96 yards and a score as the Loggers (2-1, 1-0) dumped the Pioneers (0-4, 0-2) in a Northwest Conference game in Tacoma.

Linfield 41, Pacific Lutheran 14: Sam Riddle completed 17 of 21 passes for 239 yards and four touchdowns and the fifth-ranked Wildcats (3-0, 1-0) beat the 14th-ranked Lutes (2-1, 0-1) in a Northwest Conference opener in Puyallup, Washington.

Carroll 31, Montana-Western 14: Dustin Rinker ran for two scores, Mac Roche threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns and the NAIA fifth-ranked Saints (3-1, 3-1) scored 23 unanswered points in the second quarter en route to a win over the Bulldogs (2-4, 2-3) in a Frontier Conference game in Helena, Montana.

Azusa Pacific 27, Central Washington 20: Terrell Watson ran for 263 yards and two scores and the Cougars (4-1, 1-0) beat the Wildcats (2-3, 1-1) in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game in Ellensburg, Washington.
