Obituary: Bartle, M. Eleanor

BARTLE, M. Eleanor (Age 89) Eleanor passed away October 2, 2014.

She was born July 1, 1925 to Mildred and Clearance Harris.

She was born and raised in Deer Park, WA, graduating from Deer Park High School.

She briefly attended Whitworth College and then met the love of her life, Gil Bartle.

They were married in Spokane and raised a family of three boys and one girl on Spokane’s north side.

Eleanor worked at the Crescent at Northtown.

The majority of her time was spent raising her children and being a home maker.

Eleanor and Gil were devoted to their Whitworth Church family and spent a great deal of their time serving God.

Eleanor enjoyed her time at their Loon Lake cabin where she watched each generation of children and friends come and enjoy what the lake and cabin had to offer.

In Eleanor’s later years she resided in Fairwood Village and Fairwood Assisted Living.

Eleanor will forever be remembered by family and friends as a gentle and accepting person.

Eleanor was a long time member of Whitworth Presbyterian Community Church.

She is survived by her children, Lyle and Shirley Bartle, Spokane Valley, Edie and Buzz Basso, Spokane Valley, Loren and Jeanne Bartle, Mead, Sister Carol and Joe Henry, Newport, WA nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert J. Bartle, son Lester, Bartle, sisters Gertrude Verhaag and Dorothy Hanson.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 7 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 8 at 11:00 am at Heritage Chapel.

Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur Street, Spokane, WA.
