Obituary: Spilker, Eva M. (Mccaffery)

Age 87

SPILKER, Eva M. (McCaffery) (Age 87) Of Medical Lake, Washington passed away September 30, 2014 in Spokane.

She was born on April 20, 1927 in Sprague, Washington to Charles and Hazel (Bouslog) McCafferey.

Eva was raised in Davenport and was a graduate of Davenport High School, class of 1945.

She married George Spilker, also from Davenport, in 1948.

Together they had nine children, thirteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Charles, and four brothers, Leo, Edward, Gerald, and William, as well as her son Richard and granddaughter Danielle.

Eva is a longtime resident of Medical Lake, Washington where she has been a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and active member of the Pushie Grandmas vs MS organization.

She volunteered for more than twenty years in the library at the Medical Lake Middle School and was a room mother and member of the PTA at Medical Lake Elementary School.

Eva was an avid reader and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in their numerous activities.

A Rosary will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11a.m.

on Monday, October 6, both services will be at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 708 E. Lake St, Medical Lake, Washington.

Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Spokane, Friends of Medical Lake High School, or a charity of your choice.
