Vern was born in Kelso, Washington on October 8, 1926 to John and Mary Edwards Wheatcroft.
He married Shirley Fraser on September 8, 1950.
He enjoyed a long and distinguished career with Kaiser Aluminum and built five homes along the way.
He lived in the Spokane area since 1944 until his failing health made it necessary for him to relocate to Ohio to live with his daughter.
Vern is survived by his daughter, Sheryl, and son-in-law, Tom; his son, Greg, and daughter-in-law, Julie; grandchildren John, Nena, Bill, Leah, Emma, Faith and Abe; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial celebrating Vern’s life will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 2pm at the Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 South Pines Road, Spokane Valley.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Cleveland Home Dialysis, 12000 McCracken #153, Garfield Heights, Ohio 44125.
