Thor Tenold, 5, left, and his sister Ada, 3, visit the T. rex Named Sue exhibit on Sept. 30, at Mobius Science Center in downtown Spokane. The exhibition includes a cast of Sue, the most complete Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered. It is 42 feet long and weighs 3,500 pounds. The bones were found in the Black Hills of South Dakota in 1990 by fossil hunter Sue Hendrickson. The children were visiting Mobius for the first time with their grandmother Jan Tenold, at right. Felts Field – 1927 National Air Races - Spokane Valley’s own Felts Field once hosted the most popular flying event in the nation – the National Air Races. Celebrity and military pilots performed stunts and displayed the latest in flight technology of the time. The Spokane Valley Heritage Museum presents an exhibit through Dec. 30.
