Obituary: Abramowitz-Ferszt, Miriam

Age 94

ABRAMOWITZ-FERSZT, Miriam (Age 94) Passed away October 9, 2014 at Hospice House after a courageous three year battle with cancer.

She was born July 26, 1920 in Munich, Germany to Joseph and Elly Weiglein.

A survivor of the Holocaust, Miriam immigrated to the US in 1950.

She began her American life in New York and moved to California and Idaho before settling in Cheney in 1978.

She owned several successful businesses during her life including a photography studio in Hollywood, CA and a travel agency in Cheney.

Miriam was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Louis Abramowitz (1959) and David Ferszt (2002) and her sister Gertrude Glatt.

She is survived by her children Gabriele McIntire and Armand Abramowitz both of Cheney and granddaughter Alicia McIntire of Seattle.

Miriam was active at Temple Beth Shalom and the Hadassah Women’s Organization.

She enjoyed gardening and flowers, loved dogs and cats, had a passion for travel and spent many happy hours playing slot machines in casinos.

Her spunky personality will be missed by all those who knew her.

Graveside Service 12 Noon Monday October 13, 2014 at Mt Nebo Cemetery.
