Obituary: Scott, Douglas James

Age 92

SCOTT, Douglas James (Age 92) Passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 in Spokane, WA, his home for over 65 years.

Doug was born April 25, 1922 in Vale, OR to the late Clarence and Jean Scott.

After High School graduation he joined the United States Navy from November 13, 1942 to March 3, 1946 where he received numerous medals.

He was stationed in Guam during World War II.

Upon honorable discharge and returning to Vale, he met and married his beloved wife, Dorothy.

After moving to Spokane he worked at and then retired from Jensen Byrd.

Doug enjoyed traveling, family, spending time with friends and the clubs he belonged to which included, The Sons of Norway and The Eagles He also was member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Pierce.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Dorothy M. Scott, son: Douglas B. Scott and wife Laura, daughters: Tamara J. Adams and Carol E. Clark and husband Rick, plus his eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and his sister Marge Erfurt.

The Memorial Service and reception will be Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 am at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave. in Coeur d’Alene, ID.
