1. D. Spokane County agreed to pay a $350,000 settlement and changed jailing policies for people who fail to pay court-ordered fines.

2. C. Colville’s Emma Schanz, who has accepted a swimming scholarship to UCLA, does most of her practices in a hotel pool in her hometown.

3. D. Under Mayor David Condon’s proposed budget, he would make $179,484, more than Fire Chief Bobby William’s proposed raise to $176,018 and more than Gov. Jay Inslee, who earns $166,891, and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, who earns $174,000.

4. A. Wolves will remain protected in Washington until at least 15 breeding pairs are documented for three years.

5. D. Spokane voters will decide on a 20-year levy for city road projects when they vote.
