Bruce Road Bridge reopens for weekend and nights

Good news for people wanting to travel from Spokane Valley to Green Bluff this weekend. The Bruce Road Bridge over Peone Creek is opening to traffic this weekend and will remain open on weekends and evening hours while a contractor finishes up the job. Bruce Road is the main route northward to Green Bluff from Argonne Road and Millwood. But Bruce Road has been closed for months due to the $2 million bridge replacement. Starting Monday, the contractor will close the bridge and put up traffic barriers during daytime work hours to complete the last touches. Traffic will be allowed in the evenings and on weekends. Full completion will be no later than Oct. 27, county officials said.
