Obituary: Montgomery, Verna Mary
Age 97
She was born on April 5, 1917 to Arthur and Hosanna Rabie in Moxee, Washington.
Verna grew up in Moxee and married Robert Moore.
They had three children; Oda “Sonny”, Robert Jr., and Carol.
Verna later married Joe Montgomery in 1950.
Her and husband Joe owned Montgomery Custom Home Builders developing Garden Park in Yakima.
Verna loved spending time with her family and friends.
She also enjoyed traveling, sewing, gardening, and planting her flowers.
She took pride in decorating her home and taking care of her family.
She was active in her church, the local sewing club and the Red Hatters Club.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joe; and her sons, Oda Moore and Robert Moore, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Duane) Morrow; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be at Holy Family Catholic Church in Yakima, Washington on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 10am.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
