Obituary: Romero, Ray

Age 81

ROMERO , Ray (Age 81) Raymond Romero (Papa) passed away peacefully on September 27, 2014.

He was surrounded by his family, friends, and the kind staff of The Gardens nursing facility.

Papa was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, mentor and Christian.

He loved his Lord, his family, playing music and golf.

He could tell a joke like no other, fix anything…and we mean anything.

He was the first to volunteer to help those in need and the very last to give up.

He proudly served his country during both the Korean and Vietnam war while in the airforce.

He also served in the army reserves, where he retired.

Upon completion of his military service, Ray worked in real estate sales, where he opened Ray Romero Realty in the Spokane Valley.

He was a well known and respected broker throughout the real estate community.

Ray was born June 2, 1933 in Milwauke, Wisconsin, to a musician father, Raymond from Guatemala and his mother Anna from Austria.

He is survived by his siblings, Linda Romero (Wally), Rita Szabrowics (Dick), and Ricky Romero (Angie) whom he loved dearly.

Ray also leaves behind his daughters, Debra, Cynthia, and April.

Ray loved when his daughters would visit and he could hear about his grandchildren.

His step children, Bill Kalivas (April) and Theresa Kendall (Rick) were blessed to be a part of his life and witness his unconditional and devoted love to Regina during their 30 years as husband and wife.

Please join us in remembering and celebrating Papa’s Life on October 25, 2014 at Pasadena Church of the Nazarene at 3:00.

In lieu of flowers please spend time with your loved ones by golfing, fishing or hunting with them.
