They still have games remaining with fellow South contenders Utah and rival Arizona. The Huskies are working on bowl eligibility and salvaging another season with losses to Oregon and Stanford. Loggers at Pirates
Kickoff: 1 p.m. at the Pine Bowl
Records: Whitworth (4-3, 2-2 Northwest Conference); Puget Sound (3-2, 2-1)
Radio: 1230-AM
Overview: Whitworth is fighting a host of injuries after the 65-13 shellacking the Pirates took last week at No. 5 Linfield. Three of the team’s top defensive ends are either out or questionable for the game, forcing head coach Rod Sandberg to move LB Mac Shaw, a 218-pound sophomore, to defensive end. Both senior starting CBs, De’ Hall and Jerrell Norman, are done for the year. Starting RB Duke Degaetano is expected to go, Sandberg said. He praised the Loggers’ starting QB , Braden Foley, and said the Pirates have a tough task ahead of them: “I don’t think (the Loggers) are better than us, but we are not great enough to just show up and beat anybody.”
