Obituary: Delong, Elizabeth Mary (Schauble)

Age 94

DeLONG, Elizabeth Mary (Schauble) (Age 29) Passed away October 21st, three days before her 94th birthday.

She was the oldest child and the only daughter born to Robert and Mary Schauble on October 24, 1920 in Snow, North Dakota.

She graduated from St. John High School in St. John, WA and worked for Pacific Northwest Telephone Co. in Seattle and Colfax.

Liz married Ray DeLong in Seattle on February 14, 1946.

They lived on the DeLong farm until 1984 when they moved to Spokane.

Liz was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, the American Legion Auxilary, and the Wi Nu Ke Garden Club.

She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens.

Liz was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, Ray DeLong; brothers John, Donald, and Albert Schauble, and Aunt Jean Borgerson.

Liz is survived by son Joe Delong, wife Sara, granddaughter Mekenzie of St. John and son, Ray DeLong of Spokane; brothers: Rollin Schauble, Kalispell, MT; Milton Schauble, Post Falls, ID; Bill, Philip, and Joe Schauble, Spokane, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 25th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.

A Rosary will be held Monday, October 27th at 9:30 a.m. at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Church, 3624 W. Indian Trail Road, with Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. and a reception to follow.

Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, St. John, WA at 3:30 p.m.
