Warming Centers Half Way To Goal
Jeff Conroy of St. Vinny’s Facebooks:
“A couple of weeks ago my friend, Rose Backs, sent out a plea to the community. She asked that
people donate to help open St Vincent de Paul North Idaho’s second Warming Center in Post Falls. Just this morning we crossed over the $9,000 mark! The 2 SVDP Warming Centers are open when the temperature falls below 25 degrees. Between the centers we average between 60-80 people getting out of the cold nightly, all receive a warm meal and a safe, warm place to spend the night. Each night we staff it with 2 people and are open an avg. of 75 nights between Nov. 1-Feb 28. It costs $18,750 over the 4 months for staff, food, and utilities. Because of a gracious community we’re able to prepare the opening of the PF Center but we’re only half way there. If you’d like to help please contact our Social Service Director Matt Hutchinson at 664-3095.”
